The problem
The evidence needed to make asset decisions is published, but scattered across six distribution network operators and NESO in inconsistent formats, definitions and cadences. It is rarely used properly because assembling it is too costly.
GridOptic exists for one purpose: to give asset-side operators — battery and BESS developers, VPP and DSR operators, utilities, infrastructure investors — the evidence they need to decide where to build and what to bid. The DNOs are the data source, not the customer.

We normalise published data to a single canonical schema, preserve provenance to the source record, and grade the strength of every figure. Where evidence cannot support a number, we withhold it. Refusing to print a number you cannot defend is the position.
Great Britain only. Northern Ireland (NIE) operates a separate electricity market with no equivalent flexibility procurement registers. Stating the edge of coverage is itself a statement of discipline.
Independent and founder-led. Incorporated in England & Wales in July 2026, company number 17350559. Pre-commercial: access is by invitation while the first cohort is onboarded.

Every figure below is rounded down to stay true to the count. The pipeline covers all six GB distribution networks and NESO national datasets.
GridOptic preserves source, publication date and evidence strength behind every signal. Where data is weak, confidence falls. Where a number cannot be supported, we do not manufacture one. All source data links back to the original DNO and NESO publications so users can verify any conclusion.
